Solid - Void
The point of view from which we look at things (how we look at things) might be more important than what kind of thing it is.
Kunsik's Solid-Void project fosters a harmonious and organic relationship between objects, spaces, and the people who engage with them. Utilizing the concept of solid and void as a medium, Kunsik creates void spaces within each object, inviting individuals to freely project their thoughts and craft their own narratives.
Two Realms
Kunsik designed the Two Realms Chair to exist on the boundary between completion and incompletion. The lines of the chair’s structure overlap and remain unfinished. The design intentionally blurs the clarity of its form, offering varying impressions depending on the viewing angle. The Two Realms Chair was created to resonate with the viewer’s state of mind, inviting diverse interpretations.
Void Cabinet
For the Void Cabinet, Kunsik concealed most of its structure and form by wrapping it in a thin, soft, translucent silicone. When designing the Void Cabinet, he was inspired by the work of Christo and Jeanne-Claude, which has created vast voids in cities and nature, inspiring people and sparking questions and stories.
