Stepping Stone
Kunsik designed the carpet, featuring the motif of a stepping stone in the garden of a traditional Korean house. The natural stone used as a stepping stone, whose shape ultimately serves a purpose, takes its form through a series of coincidences or intentional actions influenced by both nature and humans. Through a repeated process of breaking and shearing, Kunsik sought for the shape of the carpet, which functions as the floor of the space we inhabit, to resemble the form of nature itself.
